I have left kidney cancer, which is pathologically bright cell carcinoma. I had my left kidney removed a year ago. This year, lung and bone metastases appeared. The doctor ordered chemotherapy, but it didn't work. I took Sutan instead. It's been three months, and the number of spinal metastases has increased from 2 to 4. I can't sleep because of back pain. What should I do?

Those of you who have been to my office may have seen that there is a pair of empty beer bottles in a prominent place on the bookshelf. The bottles are painted with beautiful art. They were given to me by a lady named Rammy from the Philippines to express gratitude for the "complete disappearance" of her bone metastases. In May 2008, Rammy came to my office and handed me a stack of MR and CT films. She had right kidney cancer and had her left kidney removed in the Philippines in 2003. In 2007, she developed back pain, and MRI confirmed multiple bone metastases. She said, "Professor Xu, I am a poor Filipino, please help me." I gave her a compound immune agent to take back to the Philippines for injection. Six months later, MRI reexamination showed that "bone metastasis was no longer seen." In 2011, in Manila, the then Vice President of the Philippines, Biney, met with me, and Rammy and her sister attended. This Spring Festival, a friend in the Philippines forwarded Rammy's New Year's greetings, saying that she was "all well."

This is a very successful example. I have seen an article you published in OncoTarget Ther in 2019, reporting a case of kidney cancer that you successfully treated with dozens of metastases after surgery. It was very shocking.

There are also magical stories here. On April 27, 2017, I received a call from a friend in my hometown, saying that a business owner, Mr. Shi, wanted to be hospitalized in our hospital. I said that I would go back to my hometown tomorrow for the May Day holiday and would pass by Nantong, so we would talk about it when we met. At noon the next day, I was having dinner with friends at Nantong Wenfeng Hotel, and several people helped Mr. Shi to come to our dining room. At that time, Mr. Shi was thin, severely anemic, coughing frequently, gasping for breath, and had difficulty walking. His family said that he had just received a blood transfusion at the nearby Nantong University Affiliated Hospital, otherwise he would not have been able to come. Looking at the MRI film brought, the lungs and bones were full of metastases, with a rough count of 28. There was a walnut-sized mass on the right tonsil, which was constantly oozing blood. Pathology has proven that the mass is from renal bright cell carcinoma. Mr. Shi underwent laparoscopic radical resection of the left kidney for a left kidney tumor in early January 2015. Postoperative pathology showed bright cell carcinoma grade II. In April 2016, multiple metastases appeared in the right lung. He was treated in hospitals in Shanghai and Hong Kong, but there was no effect. He went to the United States for treatment for another 3 months. Now his condition is getting worse and worse, and he needs a blood transfusion once a week. His daughter shed tears and begged our hospital to accept him, "even if it is hospice care." After May Day, I returned to Guangzhou, and Mr. Shi had been admitted to our hospital. To be honest, I was afraid that he would "get into trouble" in our hospital and "be especially careful with people from my hometown." I asked the ward not to give him special treatment first, "not to spend too much money on him." I wanted to "try it" and silently gave him a composite immune injection. A week later, miraculously, Mr. Shi happily got out of bed and stood up to shake hands with me, saying that the pain in his lower limbs was much better. Looking at his tonsil mass, it was reduced by half. After 3 weeks, he could walk 2 kilometers a day, and 3 months later, CT and MR examinations showed that all metastases had almost completely disappeared. In 2020, I returned to my hometown and visited him at his home. I saw that his kitchen was very large. He said that he now invites friends to dinner almost every day and enjoys life.
